Love the Greenway!
Saturday April 1, 2017 - Fort Mill, SC - The Anne Springs Close Greenway will launch its first annual “Love the Greenway” public awareness and community fundraising campaign. The public is invited to participate in special events planned throughout the month of April at the Greenway to promote and celebrate the beautiful 2,100-acre nature preserve and recreational park in Fort Mill, SC. This year’s campaign will feature two family oriented special events on the Greenway – the “Blue Star Blitz” on April 1, a grassroots hike-a-thon fundraiser on the popular 7.2-mile Blue Star trail, and the Greenway’s annual “Earth Day Celebration” on April 22, a free outdoor event celebrating nature with music, entertainment and fun activities for the whole family. Both events will be staged at the Comporium Amphitheater located near the Dairy Barn entrance to the Greenway.

Friday April 28, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - BIKE! Charlotte is seventeen days of bicycle related events and promotions used to encourage families, friends, and colleagues to break out the bike and use it as a means of transportation and recreation. The event kicks of with the annual Mayor's Ride.

Tour de Blaze
Saturday April 29, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - On Saturday, April 29th Blue Blaze Brewing will be combining two of our favorite things – beer and biking – for another Tour de Blaze! On this bike ride, we will make multiple stops at your favorite Plaza MidWood and NoDa bars, pubs, restaurants, bottle shops - you name it! Each stop will feature one of our unique blazes for your tasting pleasure. The ride begins at 1:30p, but those who come early get a free bike inspection by Uptown Cycles and a chance to grab a brew before the ride!
National Bike Month
Monday May 1, 2017 - United States - May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.
Queen City Bicycles & Bull Dog B&W Social Bike Ride
Tuesday May 2, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Happy Bike Charlotte. This will be a social ride at party pace. The Ride will leave from Bulldog Beer & Wine promptly at 7pm and will make multiple stops while riding thru Historic South End, Charlotte and Dilworth Neighborhoods. One of the planned stops is to check out the new Queen Park Social . The planned return to Bulldog Southend is around 10pm. Please bring your helmets and lights!
XCLT Trail Segment Opening
Wednesday May 3, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Join us in celebrating the opening of the Cordelia Park segment of the Cross Charlotte Trail! This segment extends the Little Sugar Creek Greenway under Parkwood Avenue through Cordelia Park to 24th Street at Davidson. It's also part of the Carolina Thread Trail, a regional network of greenways, trails and blueways that reaches 15 counties and two states.

Thursday May 4, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Join us for a THTB club meeting at D9 Brewing in Cornelius. The meeting starts at 7:30, but feel free to come early to order food, eat dinner and socialize. There will be a food truck at D9 for those that are eating dinner at the meeting (TBA). D9 Brewing's address is 11138 Treynorth Dr, Cornelius, NC 28031. We will be sharing updates on all of our cub projects, including the new trails at Fisher/Allison Farms, Big Leaf Slopes, and Mazeppa Rd Park in Mooresville. Greenways For Mecklenburg
Thursday May 4, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 4 at 4:30 for the ribbon cutting for the Little Sugar Creek Greenway stretch in Cordelia Park. This greenway is a key connector for the Cross Charlotte Trail and the spine of the Carolina Thread Trail. After the ceremony we will be moving to the Free Range Brewery to launch our Greenways for Mecklenburg Foundation.

Sunday May 7, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Open Streets 704 is a series of four Charlotte events made possible by a grant from the Knight Foundation. Open Streets 704 will literally open a length of city streets for an afternoon just for people! Taking cues from similar events around the country and the world, Open Streets 704 aims to build a better, healthier, connected community by encouraging Charlotte and Mecklenburg area residents to walk, bicycle, and experience the city together in a way that’s just not possible in a car.
Women and Girls Only Intro to MTB Clinic!
Sunday May 7, 2017 - Fort Mill, SC - This 1.5 hour program meets on a Sunday afternoon. We cover basics: how your bike works, simple maintenance, body positioning, gearing and braking. You need to bring your own bike, a helmet and water. If you like, you can join the regular Sunday beginner trail ride that follows at 2 pm.

CLT Bike Camp
Monday June 26, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Come gain experience on your bike. This camp is geared for folks newer to riding. In this program we will learn about intersections, hazards, speed control, and basic repair. We will play plenty of games and have time to practice riding to parks and fun locations nearby. Typical mileage for First Wheels will be 6 or fewer miles a day.

Monday July 24, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - If you are already comfortable to ride on your own and are ready for new exposure this is the session for you! Our Rolling Ready program is for riders who are interested in expanding their horizons. We will ride between 6-10 miles a day with potential for one longer day. The focus of this program is to reach new destinations, cover greater distances and encounter different styles of riding. As with all our programs, participants will learn mechanics, bike care and safe riding technique.

CLT Bike Camp
Monday August 14, 2017 - Charlotte, NC - Our Hard Gear program is similar to the Rolling Ready program except is geared towards older riders who are interested in meeting new people and discovering new places. Participants are also given opportunities to get more in-depth knowledge and experience in mechanics/repair. This program is for riders ready to log some miles on their bikes. Riders can expect to ride 10+ miles on several rides. We will have days with fewer miles.
