One rider’s experience became an effort to help the cycling community.
Mat Fisher was riding with friends when an impatient driver passed the group closely with their horn blaring! The video doesn't show exactly what happened, but we do know Mat crashed and sustained significant injuries as the driver entered their lane, and blared his horn.
The driver didn't stop. A rider behind Mat captured the vehicle on video. With the video evidence, Mat’s friends were able to find the vehicle and share the information with police.
Many incidents involving drivers who do not stop go unrecorded, leaving riders and police with little information to work from. Mat believed one practical step was to help more cyclists use cameras to document dangerous or aggressive encounters.
